PART 2: “Your daughter… called me a thief…”

Lightning split the sky above the luxury villa as rain hammered the front yard and the glowing mansion loomed behind glass doors. Then the first shock exploded—a metal bowl slammed into the mud. Rice scattered into dirty rainwater. Camera whip-panned to Mary on her knees in soaked maid clothes, trembling as she desperately tried to gather the ruined food with shaking hands. Her tears mixed with the storm. Alberto burst into frame, shoes splashing through puddles. “Mary!” he shouted. He dropped beside her in the mud, grabbing her shoulders. “What happened?!” Mary could barely speak through sobs. “Your daughter… called me a thief…”

Thunder rolled. Lightning flashed across Alberto’s face as it changed from concern to something far colder. Rage. He pulled Mary gently to her feet and marched her through the rain toward the mansion. House staff watched silently from under the awning, too afraid to move. The front doors flew open. Lucía stood inside in elegant silk, smug and dry, wine glass in hand. “I told her never to come back.” Alberto stepped through the doorway, rain dripping from his coat onto the marble floor. He took Mary’s hand and raised it high.

“No.” Lucía’s smile weakened. Alberto’s voice shook the house. “She belongs here more than you do!” The room froze. Lucía blinked, confused now. “What…?” Alberto pointed at Mary, eyes burning. “She is your—” CUT TO BLACK. But the silence didn’t end. Thunder boomed again. Lucía laughed nervously. “Finish the sentence.” Alberto stepped closer, voice deadly calm. “She is your mother.” The wine glass slipped from Lucía’s hand and shattered across the marble. Mary gasped and backed away. “No… don’t do this,” she whispered. Lucía’s face drained white. “My mother died when I was three.” Alberto turned slowly toward her. “That’s what I told you.” House staff stared in horror. Mary cried openly now. “I begged to see you every birthday.” Lucía stumbled backward into the chandelier light. “Why would you lie?” Alberto’s jaw tightened. “Because she wanted to take you and leave me.” Mary shook her head violently. “Because you paid them to say I stole from you.” Lucía looked between them, unable to breathe. Then Mary reached into her soaked pocket and pulled out a tiny silver baby bracelet engraved with Lucía’s full name and birth date.
