PART 2: “Your job here is done,” he said with a smug grin.

The suitcase came flying through the front door so hard it smashed against the hallway floor and burst open.

Clothes scattered everywhere.

Cold night air rushed inside.

Alana stood frozen in the doorway, staring in disbelief.

At the kitchen table, her older brother Garrett leaned back with a beer in his hand, laughing like he had just won something.

“Your job here is done,” he said with a smug grin.

Their mother smiled from her chair.

“We already got what we wanted.”

Their father didn’t even look up.

He calmly sliced lime at the table as if nothing was happening.

Alana’s voice shook.

“What did you do?”

Garrett reached into his pocket and flicked something onto the table.

Her ATM card.

It spun across the wood and stopped in front of her.

“Took what was fair,” he said.

Alana grabbed her phone and opened her banking app.

Her face drained instantly.

The account was nearly empty.

Withdrawal after withdrawal after withdrawal.

Her lips parted but no sound came out.

“No…” she whispered.

Garrett laughed louder.

“Not your money anymore.”

Then he stood, kicked her suitcase back toward the open door, and pointed outside.

“Sleep wherever you want.”

Her mother laughed.

Her father smirked for the first time.

The whole room joined in.

Alana’s eyes filled with tears… then suddenly went calm.

Too calm.

At that exact moment, her phone buzzed in her hand.

Unknown number.

Three missed calls.

She answered slowly and pressed speaker.

A serious voice came through.

“Ms. Alana… this is Fraud Security. We found who took the money.”

The laughter died instantly.

Garrett’s smile disappeared.

Her mother went pale.

Her father finally looked up.

Alana raised her eyes and stared at all three of them.

“They’re still in the house,” she said coldly.

Then someone began pounding on the front door.
