PART 2: “Don’t stop me! I’ll give everything I own—just bring her voice back!”

The room died instantly.

Hundreds of powerful people… silent. Watching.

The camera snapped to Lily.

Eight years old. Frozen. Beautiful. Empty.

She hadn’t spoken in over a year.

Guests slowly parted.

A teenage boy stepped forward. Calm. Certain. Like he didn’t belong—but knew he did.

“I can do it.”

Daniel turned sharply, anger flashing through his grief.

“This is not a game! Get out!”

The boy didn’t move.

“I know why she can’t speak.”

The words cut deeper than shouting.

The camera pushed closer to Lily’s face.

Something changed.

Her eyes moved. Locked.

Not on her father…

On the boy.

A tear formed.

Daniel’s breath caught.

“Lily…?”

Her hands began to tremble.

The entire ballroom leaned forward without realizing it.

The boy stepped closer, voice softer now.

“Lily… you remember me.”

Her lips shook.

Air caught in her throat like something fighting its way out.

No one moved.

No one even blinked.

She opened her mouth.

“M—”

Daniel gasped, stepping toward her, voice breaking completely.

“Say it—!”

And from the back of the room… a woman’s voice suddenly cried out:

“Don’t let her finish!”
