PART 2: The cathedral doors opened beneath golden afternoon sunlight as the bride and groom stepped onto the massive stone stairs covered in white flower petals.

Guests applauded softly.

Cameras flashed.

Church bells echoed through the city.

The groom smiled confidently beside his bride—

until suddenly—

a ragged homeless woman stepped directly into their path.

The crowd fell quieter instantly.

Wind moved through her layered brown clothes.

The groom’s smile vanished.

“You can’t be here.”

The woman flinched hard at his voice.

But she didn’t move.

The bride tightened her grip around her bouquet, confused now.

The woman’s eyes filled with tears.

“That’s okay…”

Her voice trembled.

“Just check your phone.”

Some guests laughed awkwardly.

Others lifted their phones to record.

The groom forced out an embarrassed laugh.

“What?”

The woman stepped closer carefully.

Close enough to whisper something only he could hear.

Instant silence.

The groom froze completely.

All color slowly drained from his face.

His fingers shook as he pulled his phone from his jacket pocket.

The bride leaned closer.

“What’s wrong?”

He didn’t answer.

He opened a new photo message.

And stopped breathing.

The camera pushed tightly toward the screen—

an old photograph.

Years earlier.

The same homeless woman smiling beside a much younger version of him…

holding a newborn baby wrapped in a blue blanket.

The bride covered her mouth instantly.

“Oh my God…”

The wedding crowd went completely silent.

Even the church bells felt distant now.

The groom slowly lifted his eyes toward the woman like he was staring at someone who should not exist.

“This photo…”

A tear rolled down her dirty cheek.

“I told you I’d find you.”

The bride stared between them in growing horror.

“Who is she?”

The groom opened his mouth—

but before he could answer—

the homeless woman whispered softly through tears:

“Ask him what happened the night our son disappeared.”

The groom’s knees nearly gave out beneath him.
